Before I started on Motel Transylvania, I wanted to do a bit of prep work to get into the unique style of the Hotel Transylvania movies. I think it’s important to do quick stuff like this when you work on an existing IP. It was interesting to see how you have to fight your instincts to make natural looking anim, and really think about shapes and clarity, and living within a pose to the max! Thanks to @animawarriors and @theanimationbox for the rigs that really lend themselves well to this style. And thanks to whoever did this shot on Hotel Transylvania 2, which was a good embodiment of the style I thought.
