So... Gumball!!! As you know I worked on the TWWWOG, and I'm super excited to show you all some of my work during my last year on @studio.soi ! I had to do the Key Animation for this shot from The Homework episode... WHAT A CHALLENGING SHOT! It's almost 900 frames!! And there are sooo many points to deal with! Not only the exhausted acting of Gumball, losing his weight every two seconds, but also having his feet tracking the 3D moving background were important issues to keep in mind while planning the shot. Keeping consistent volumes of every appearing prop was also a big thing to deal with! Needless to say, the shot was a reference to the wonderful short film "Afternoon Class" by Seoro Oh, which was a huge inspiration while animating it. To be honest, I still see some little things that I would change in terms of animation, but I did what I could with the time that I got, so I'm proud of the result! The Key animation team usually took one or two weeks per episode but for only this shot I took a WHOLE MONTH to do the rough animation. FUN FACT☝️🤓: because of that I was the only Key Animator of the team who didn't work on The Amadain episode. (Well it's more a sad fact than a fun fact tho xd) Honestly, when @freddieelsom assigned me this shot, I couldn't believe it; it was such a shot to live up to! I remember he told me it was almost a full animation exercise! Indeed it was, I learned sooo much animating it! So thank you, Freddie, for trusting me with such an amzing task, I'm so grateful for that <3 But of course this is not a one-person-job shot, as we all know in this industry everything is thanks to ✨TEAM WORK✨ I could enhance my animation thanks to design references (by the amazing @puddlefisher), storyboard poses, and of course, retakes. The clean up and inbetweening were all done by the mervelous @bluestroke_ (no sé cómo no me mataste xd) The FX animation was thanks to the fantastic @milgonc ! I dont know who was in charge of the spectacular Comp, so please let me know who I'm missing so I can give them credit for their magnificent work! I will be posting more interesting stuff soon... Apa, siau! #twwwog
