Sergio’s work on Mickey Mouse under the great Andreas Deja, and later on the elephant Tantor in Disney’s Tarzan and Dr. Doppler in Disney’s Treasure Planet, ranks among the finest character animation in Disney history. Sergio later left Disney to return to Madrid and found Sergio Pablos Animation (SPA) Studios @thespastudios where he eventually created his Oscar-nominated feature Klaus (2019). As you probably know, I had the privilege of working with Sergio for a short time, and during those few months I learned an enormous amount from him.
